I is Loving...

Hi all!

I found this today, on galadarling.com. I am amazed with sweetness, literally.

I think it's what Gala Darling wants as a tattoo, but it is so sweet. It's so sugary!

I have a new boyfriend. His name is Charles, and he's from Cali. And I really like him. He's good.

I also got my each of my grandmothers a necklace. One says "Woman of Grace". She got that award for all her fundraising for the JDRF. The other one says "Fighter", because every day she wakes up with a smile on her face, even though she has cancer. So, I got them necklaces. They are from this woman on Etsy named Diane. Here is a picture of the "Woman of Grace" necklace.

I can't wait to see their reactions!

I is loving this song:
I am a latke,
I am a latke,
And I'm waiting for Hanukkah to come.
I am a latke,
I am a latke.
It's from the preschool I went to volenteer at. These songs get stuck in your head. It's bad.

I is also loving a little boy from the classroom I was in the other day. His name is Charlie, and he is the cutest thing. He was using some blocks as drums, and singing "Day-o". It was the cutest thing. I love him.

What do you love?

Winter is Coming!

It's cold. Well, its not like I live in Alaska, or Antarctica, or anything. Simply put, winters are amazingly cold, and summers are amazingly hot and humid. So, throughout the year, my wardrobe changes drastically. Lets look at some New England winter must-haves.

Long Coat: I have had normal-length coats, and they do keep you warm, but only your top half. I needed my bottom half to be warm too! So, I got a great long coat for this winter. It's great. It keeps me nice and toasty.

Uggs: Yes, I know they're ugly. They do a good job at keeping your feet warm, though. I'd rather wear Ugg(lies) than the plastic goodness that was the snowboots of my childhood.

Scarf: Better make it big and chunky; you're gonna need it! Bright colors make a drab, cold day so much better.

Gloves: If you plan on using your hands outside, you need to plan on getting gloves. They come in different fabrics, and patterns, so they can match anything. Leather, and lace are my favorite, but not together. Try a pair that have a cute embellishment, like bows.

Layering: Layers are awesome. They keep you warm, but you can always take them off. The idea, though, is to layer without being bulky. To do that, use peices that are thin.

A possible outfit using my teachings:

Daily Outifts! and I is Loving...

I have been so busy, that I haven't posted in forever. Here are a few recent Daily Outfits.

It consists of: a black sweater from the Army-Navy Surplus Store, and purple skinny Tripp pants from Hot Topic.
This was for going to work; I worked at a daycare. And I have/had pink hair. It was awesome.

This outfit: green short sleeve sweater from Forever21, and black skinny Tripp pants from Hot Topic.

First off, the sweater from the Army-Navy store is awesome. I got it for my Outward Bound trip, but never used it. So I use it at home now. I love the proportions it makes with the skinny pants. Skinny pants, I think, make me look put together, and not sloppy. The big black sweater goes on my I is Loving list.
Other things I is loving at the moment: BRYANBOY!!! His motto is "I'm so gay I sweat glitter." He is a fashion blogger, who is very into himself. He is very very very fashionable, and LOVES Marc Jacobs. He makes me laugh. Also, Pigs in the Bahamas! I'll let you take in some cuteness.

Okay, so cute, right? It's from a flickr set by Eric Cheng. I don't have any idea who he is, but these pictures are totally my cute quotient for the day. Check out the whole set: .

So go check the piggies out, and check BryanBoy out. They will make you squeel.

Halloween Help

Halloween is right around the corner, and, if you don't have a costume, you're freaking out. I know it's temping, but don't give in and wear a bought costume. It's so much more fun to make one yourself, or figure out a cosutme from what you already have. Here are a few examples:

Baby Girl- Wear a cute little pink dress, a pair of black tights, pink shoes to match the dress, and a 'pretty' necklace. That's a necklace that says pretty. A binky is in order if you're gonna be a baby. You need are a pacifier, which you can find anywhere, and some gems, which you can find at a craft store. Sparklize that paci.

Kitty- You can go get a tail if you want. A sexy 50s inspired dress flanked by kitty ears and a heart belt. The Hello Kitty clutch provides some humor. Your half-gloved hands serve as your claws.

Little Girl Playing Dress Up- Look through your/your moms/your grandmas closet(s) to find what you need. Get everything vintage. I think it would be funny if you used things you actually used to dress up with, ie a hat, bangles. Then pile on mismatching jewelry.

I hope I helped a little bit.

Daily Outfit

Interview Day! This was my interview outfit: blue cardigan from the Gap, pink tux shirt from the Gap, black slacks from the Gap, black heels from DSW. I felt very professional in this outfit, which was the point. I didn't get the internship, because it's not what I want to do.

How to Make Dreads

Dreadlocks. They bring up connotations of hippies, pot, and Bob Marley. They can be real or fake, made with synthetic hair, ribbons, tubing, yarn, and anything else. They can be long or short, thick or thin. Personally, I don't like long dreads.

I like the look of short, baby dreads with a cute haircut. So, I am going to attempt at a baby dread.

Materials: a teasing comb, pomade(get dread wax), mini hair band.

Step 1: Gather a 1-inch section of hair.

Step 2: Twist tightly.

Step 3: Backcomb. If you have straight hair, do this a lot more than if you had curly hair. Tip: Comb upwards.

Step 4: Apply pomade.

Step 5: Secure with mini hairband.

I hope it comes out well. Wish me luck.

My Trip to the Gap

As I didn't have any interview clothing, I went shopping yesterday. I got some great things that I can mix and match with the stuff I already have. So here's my stuff:

This sweater I got in this color, and a plum color. These are great because I can layer over nice t-shirts, and I won't look bulky. They are so soft and pretty.

I got these in three colors: black, khaki, and pinstripe. They make my ass look nice, and they're not too sexy. They are really nice pants. I never thought that work pants would fit so nicely.

This is a shirt that I wouldn't usually wear. Gap.com says that it's a different way of wearing a tux shirt. When I tried it on with the skirt, I loved it. I got it in pink and black.

This pencil skirt is the only one I found that fits me. It is so pretty, and sophisticated. I've always wanted one. Now I have one. End of story. But look at it; it's gorgeous.

Now I can wear these to interviews, then after, I can mix and match them with what I have already. They are sophisticated, but fun. Thats what I like about them.

What to.. or Not to.. Wear for an Interview

Job interviews are an important piece of every one's lives. They are inevitable. Yet one of the most important things are the outfit. It gives the interviewer an impression that could make or break you. Here is what and what not to do:

  • black pencil skirt
  • white oxford
  • purple flats
  • black vest
  • black headband
  • simple silver necklace

This is simple, yet fun. It shows you have intelligence, yet you're fun. The necklace is cute, and everything else is sophisticated. If you do something like this, you'll be set and have this job.

  • huge pink bag
  • white tank top
  • tight pink jeans
  • body jewelry
  • clunky shoes
  • sparkly head bow
  • "bitch" ring
  • bear trap bracelet
  • huge bling
  • big necklace
With this on, you'll look like an annoying, bitchy, disrespectful kid. The pants are too bright for work, the "bitch" ring is too inappropriate, and the bow is too bright. I mean, if you're working in Hot Topic, this would be fine, but in the average workplace, this outfit is a no go. A good rule of dressing for job interviews is to tone down your daily wear, then tone it down a little more.
Also, call the company and ask what the dress code is. You'll look interested and you'll wear the right thing.
Good luck!

Cupcake Hair!

I love colored hair. Brown, blonde, pink, purple, everything. But I love love unnatural colored hair. It just looks so cool. The way some people mix colors, and make a statement.

http://community.livejournal.com/pinkhair/1661210.html#cutid1 <-- this girl has awesome hair. it swirls into a bunch of different things.

So, I want cupcake colored hair. I don't know if I look best with bright pink, pale pink, or any other combo hair. I really want pink.

So what do you all think? I can't get it now, but maybe in a few months. don't tell my mom though! (hehe.)

How to Make a Difference

Everyone wants to make a difference in life. It could be for a homeless person, an elder, a parent, or a child. There are also many ways to make a difference; I feel the best way is to just be there.

This is my story:
This summer, as with many recent summers, I have been working at JCC Grossman Camp in Westwood, MA. I was originally assigned to Bunk 8 within the Galil Unit. It was pretty nice, and the kids usually behaved, but my Unit Head came up to me on the day when a camper got lost. She asked me to be his one-on-one. I was kind of nervous, but I had to do it. So when the same boy, who will remain nameless, I was already an authoritative figure in Bunk 13. It's been two weeks, and all I can say is it's a great feeling to make a difference. It makes me ecstatic.

Today, my Unit Head came up to me again, this time to help with Bunk 11, which is the Special Education bunk. The main counselor, when asked she wanted me, immediately agreed. That makes me feel great.

The nameless boy in Bunk 13 is doing great. He doesn't hit or kick other children, or get lost. It makes me feel amazing that I could do something to help this boy. I guess what I'm doing is a mitzvah(good deed).

I is Loving...

  • Pretzels and Frosting

This is the most awesome snack. It's sweet, salty, creamy and crunchy. It was everything good rolled into one. Yum. Try it.

  • Sushi

Last week, I had sushi twice. At the same place. It was so good. It was Yama in Weselly, MA. It was so yummy. Striped bass is awesome! Again, try it!

  • Pre-experiencing

Pre-experiencing is an idea that you experience things before you actually do. An example would be going to a new place, and slowly getting used to what will happen. This is my idea, so please don't steal it.

Fall Fashion Preview

Fashion is a great thing. It's creative, and forever moving. So, here is a preview of some of my favorite brands, and how to pull it off in real life.
DKNY: bright, bold colors; ethnic prints; grey tights.

This type of purple is very hot within the walls of DKNY. The skirt has a golden pattern of some kind of animal, and I added a pair of gold earrings to match. Mary-janes will make a comeback with DKNY, and this pair is great. Grey tights finish off this look. This outfit could go to work, then out to dinner, or to a night out.

Chanel: suits; structured; lace; crazy prints.

This look is structured and girly. By the way, the tights are textured. Chanel will bring pencil skirt suits, mary-janes, patterned tights and lace to the table this fall. I could see someone wearing this to work. It's not too out there, but the tights add some texture.

Tarina Tarintino: candy colors; Alice in Wonderland; bows.

The shirt is an Alice in Wonderland print, the necklace has candy colored charms, and the boots have bows on them. Tarina's style is sweet, yet crazy and loud. She includes plastic bows, yummy-colored plastic balls, and cameo-style necklaces. This look is for a girls night out, or for a teenager. It's silly and fun and colorful.

Have fun!

I is Loving...

  • Stardoll.com
It is a website devoted to digital paper dolls in celebrities likenesses. In the site, you adopt a MeDoll, which you can personalize, and a suite. You can buy furniture and clothing with Stardollars. The Real Brands are Sephora, DKNY, and Vivienne Tam. In buying Stardollars, you recive Superstar status, which means you can buy things that non-Superstar members can't. Real Celebs have dolls and their own suites, and include the Olsens, Vivienne Tam, all of the Pussycat Dolls, Heidi Klum, and others. There are Role Models, with whom you can become friends. It's such a fun place to make friends, have fun, and be fashionable.

  • High-waisted skirts
They, to me, look so polished, yet you can wear them down. I need a few. It's true.

  • Camp
It's like a built in family. You already have friends. And the kids are so awesome, you just want to take them home.

  • Looking out of the window in a moving vehicle
It's just a time for me to space out, and it inspires me. I get to look at people, houses, everything. This might sound a little creepy, but I love looking into house windows and seeing what they are watching on TV.

Summer Fashion

Summer is a great time. It's warm, full of days at camp, and hanging out with friends. But what to wear? Here's some tips.

Tall:
Tiffany loves being tall; her favorite things are maxi dresses. She doesn't look overwhelmed by the dress. She loves going to the park, and people watching. She makes back stories for the people she sees.

Petite:

Gem loves color, and this outfit shows. She also loves to not wear shoes. Whith her petite figure, she loves wearing short shorts. They elongate her legs, and are really cute. Her shirt has a print of a necklace on it, so she has no need to wear a necklace. Gem's favorite thing to do is go to the playground with her friends. This is what she would wear.

Pear-Shaped:

Being pear-shaped, Jeanie loves, and needs to, have ruffles of some sort on her bustline. This red dress is perfect for that, as well as summer. The gladiator sandal adds a touch of trendiness, while the heart ring and maple leaf necklace add some bling.

Food for Thought- Red Wing

You know that little place that you've always known and loved? Well, that's Red Wing for me. It's always been a mecca of fried seafood, but not tonight. Tonight, I got broiled scallops, rice and peas, and mussels for an appetizer. The scallops were yummy; the rice and peas, however, were average. I had to pour salt on them. Then they were okay. The mussels were delicious; they smelled, looked and tasted great. They were very buttery; that's what made it so good.

I'd give Red Wing an 8/10. This is because it's a classic for me, and the food is pretty good.

How to Wear a High-Waisted Skirt

High-waisted skirts are great; one can dress them up or dress them down. They are appropriate for work, play, and after dark. They give one a great shape, and are always sexy, yet refined.

To go dancing, out to eat, or on a date, put on a sexy combo of black, teal, and silver. The sleek, silver earrings highlight your barren shoulders. Two rings will do fine, if one is hard plastic, like the heart ring, and one is silver, like the crown ring. Wear one ring on one hand. The shoes are sexy and strappy.

This is the best outfit for work: it is sexy, sweet, and not too revealing. The simple accessories complement the frilly pink top perfectly. The watch is beautifully simple, as with the shoes. You will look the best as you glide down your hallway.

This is a great shopping look. The shirt has green and pink safety pins, so to tie in with that, the bag is green, and the shoes are pink. The shoes are flat, as to prevent hurting feet. A giant black bow adds to the funness of the outfit.
Show me how you wear your high-waisted skirt!

Inspire Me...

Wear a tutu; sprinkle fairy dust; indulge your inner child; have a glitter fight; match your hair to your outfit; wear fairy wings; always smile; put your hair in pigtails.
Wear lots of necklaces; wear loud bracelets; wear lots of lace; have a tea party; crane your neck; make lots of noise.

Tease your hair as big as it can go; wear bows in your hair; act like a kid; put on a fake lipring and see how many people think its real; buy colored hair extentions; wear skinny jeans.

Color your hair an unnatural color; wear heart shaped sunglasses; bust out your white tights; wear plaid; get your skin as white as you can; wear pink every day; put a pedicoat under your dresses.

Be obsessed with shiny things; play up your eyes; buy a sliver dress and wear it; wear a tiara and tell everyone you're a princess; get really big eyelashes; buy glitter and use it on everything; be over-excited.

Gone Fishing...

Today I went fishing. No, not hardcore fishing, out on a boat, and all. I was on land, with all the kids in my bunk. (I'm a counselor at a day camp in Massachusetts.) The technique was to put bread onto the hook, which was attached to a very simple stick. A red buoy hangs in between the hook and the pole itself. One watches it, for when it moves, one must pick it up, out of the water.
I caught two fish today. I always thought I could never do it.
And that's the lesson of the day: never doubt yourself. If you do, you'll miss out on great things. When you believe in yourself, you will go very far.

My Fashion Muses

  • Gala Darling

Her style is a great mix of trendy and quirky. And she is the only one I know who can pull off long, purple hair. In the first picture, her huge belt is trendy, but the puff of her dress is totally unique. And I love her shoes. Just like her blog, her style balances out.

  • Gwen Stefani

Her style is very unique. It's polished, yet sexy. Not only does she have a great fashion sense; she's also gone after her dreams: her solo career has exploded, L.A.M.B. and Harajuku Girls have been a raging success, and her second child is on the way.

  • Audrey Kitching

Okay, she's a hair muse. Her hair always seems to be that perfect shade of pink. Her style is outrageous, but the last outfit is awesome.

Let anything, everything, and everyone inspire you.

What to Wear to Work

Now that we've conquered the high school uniform, lets tackle the workingwoman's wardrobe. The average woman works in a cubicle. But that doesn't mean you can't look cute!

Camilla slips behind her desk, right at the last minute. Coffee tray in hand, she drops her red bag under her desk, and scoots into her boss's office. Sweetly, just like the bow on her shirt, she smiles and fingers her precious sparkly hair clip. She sets the coffee on her desk, and runs out to her ringing phone.

Kana calmly sits down at her desk after a hectic meeting. Her prioritized list sits right in front of her computer, and she picks it up. Some items are already checked off, but she has a lot more to get done. She reaches for the first pile of papers, and starts to fill them out. Randomly, coworkers come to her with problems, yet she answers them without a problem.

When Amanda walks by, everyone turns. Even though she isn't the boss, she acts like it sometimes. She says that she is helping the productivity of the company. She likes to see things done the right way, and, when it's not done the right way, she'll let you know.

No matter where you're working, you should always look professional. It would be a good idea to not wear t-shirts and jeans to a cubicle job. That's just my opinion, though. One wants to look refined, and smart.

How to Spruce Up your Uniform

Way back in high school, I had a uniform. Well, it was more of a dress code. It consisted of: no jeans or sweats, only button-down shirts, and the only type of sweatshirts you could wear were of the school, or a college.

The daily challenge was how to make a uniform unique. Jewelry, shoes, and bags helped with that. For a while, I got away with wearing a great pair of Converse.

This is for a preppy girl. It starts out with a simple top and bottom. The hair should be done up in a low ponytail, with the pink headband for an accent. The shoes maybe should be a little lower, but the pink and kahki fit in great. Finish the look with a pair of Chanel studs.

This is for the funky girl in school. She always wears a cool t-shirt under her dress code shirt. This one is of a cat. (Sorry for the small picture.) She wears two necklaces; one of a Pepsi can and one of a cassette tape. She wears her pink Converse everyday, even though she does get caught. If she could, she would dye her hair bright purple. But she can't, so she doesn't.

This is a more classic look. The belt gives a great shape to the shirt, and the flats are a great color. The ring gives some bling, and you could even add a necklace. This is a great, relaxed, refined look.
Uniforms do not have to be boring. They can show who you are, and what you like. You can be unique, where ever you are. You can be you.

The World is a Fashion Show...

Practice your walk on the streets; wear everything as though it is haute couture; show the world what you can do; attract good attention to yourself; smile at your fans; always look your best; show off your best assets.

Throw a party in a field; wear your frilliest dress to the park and spin around, celebrate the mundane; smile; wear muted colors on a bright day; be attracted to shiny things; don't be afraid to wear textures; sprinkle glitter everywhere you go; kick up your foot when you're kisssed; be a rebel.

Wear a sexy, form-fitting dress; show off your best features; become refined, if only for a day; wear fake fur; make up a really refined name for yourself, dress up like her, and be her for a day; pull your hair into a beautiful bun; practice walking with a book on your head; use your sexy smile; smile with your eyes at strangers; wear a gorgous brooch in your hair; drink tea.
Be crazy; express yourself any way you know how; wear a huge heart necklace on the days you're feeling sad; color outside the lines; exaggerate everything you do; wear work boots with a girly pink dress; wear all pink one day; wear heart-shaped glasses every day, and make it your thing; be funny; be optimistic.
I hope this inspired you, and, please, add more!
